4th Annual Commemorative Event
IN HONOR OF THE 163RD ANNIVERSARY OF CAILLOUX'S HEROIC DEATH

The years commemorative event was truly special. We were blessed to be hosted by the oldest Black Catholic Church in the country, St. Augustine Catholic Church. On this sacred ground where Cailloux himself is said to have attended, we the community, together, read more than 2,000 names of the brave soldiers that fought in Captain Cailloux's two regiments. There were heartfelt by speeches by Councilman Eugene Green, Former Councilman Oliver Thomas and Father Mulenga and a beautiful rendition of TAPS played by solo violinist, Olivia Msemaji.
